DANGEROUS GOODS REGULATIONS (DGR) OVERVIEW

Duration: 1 Day

Introduction:

The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations demand stringent compliance procedures when shipping dangerous goods by air as international shipments must comply with both the ICAO Technical Instructions, as well as national regulations.  In order to meet commercial standards, shippers and operators are also required to meet the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR).

Litson & Associates provides a solution with a one-day Dangerous Goods course (initial and recurrent) that satisfies the entire mandatory requirement for Flight Deck Crew (Category 10).

This course is about learning the basics about the safe transportation of dangerous goods by air based on the current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.  This course covers the recognition, handling and stowage of dangerous packages, provides an understanding of procedures that will help detect hidden hazards when accepting air freight and specifically aims at providing attendees with:

  • Knowledge of the origin of the current regulations
  • Understanding the general philosophy
  • A clear definition of Dangerous Goods
  • Knowledge of the Provisions for DG carried by passengers and/or crew
  • Knowledge of hidden dangerous goods
  • The ability to extract information from the list of DG
